All of us carry weight. Whether it’s a secret, a painful story from our past, or a sensitive heart. We all shoulder burdens in life. This retreat will be focused around a severance ritual that will help you let go of those burdens and finally free yourself.
During this retreat you bring, find, or create a representation of your burden. It can be an artifact from your life, a work of art, or a symbol found in nature. You’ll then share your burden with the group. You’ll be heard, understood, and validated by the group of men. Finally, together we will summit a mountain and cast our burdens into the great beyond.
Back at base camp you’ll connect with the community and devise ways to embody your severance. Perhaps there are powerful conversations that you need to have, maybe you need to make a career change, or you might just have to cut someone or something out of your life. No matter what you need your new band of brothers will inspire and hold you accountable to making the meaningful changes in your life.

The most important part of any retreat is integration – taking all that you’ve learned and experienced and making it real. This means making commitments to yourself and the other Men on the retreat. You’ll have community support to make changes in your life, have difficult conversations, or quit a bad habit. At Men’s Therapy Online we believe that it’s long-term community support that helps men grow. The retreat experience can kick start a change but it takes hard, consistent work to cement it.
After the retreat you’ll be invited to a touchdown meeting two days later, on the 24th and another integration call the following week, on the 3rd. These calls are a place to reconnect with the other participants and facilitators as well as update us on the progress that you’ve made. Some retreat participants then go on to join one of our Men’s Groups to continue the cadence of support and accountability.
The Retreat costs $800. This includes the Retreat itself as well as the Orientation and Integration Zoom Calls
Participants will be responsible for their own transportation to the trailhead, camping gear, and food.
Our facilitators are available to offer gear recommendations by request.
Additionally the participant list will be made available to you prior to the trip to coordinate shared gear and transportation
